Day of the chestnutsEl día de las Castañas(si quieres saber más sobre la tradición de las castañas en España, pincha aquí)

On November 23, we celebrated the day of the chestnuts (El día de las Castañas).

Some parents of the AMPA bought and roasted the chestnuts in the traditional way.

All the classes went out to the playground to try them and stopped our lessons for a while! It was a great moment and we thank the parents for their effort. They were delicious.

Several moments of the process

This is a famous carol about chestnuts:

(Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) : Lyrics

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping on your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

They know that Santa's on his way;
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother's child is going to spy,
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.

And so I'm offering this simple phrase,
To kids from one to ninety-two,
Although its been said many times, many ways,
A very Merry Christmas to you
